We've found different Cutting Capacities for this model  MC(Multi Cut 
System) 1250 for Slitting
(this is probably due to steel strengths)
20 ga. at 5 knife sets/ cuts
16 ga. at 3 knife sets/ cuts

One Forestner Maschinenbau GMBH Brochure shows Slitter capacity at:
Steel up to 1.0mm(.039" or 20/19 ga.) and Stainless Steel up to 
0.6mm(.023 or 24/23 ga.) with 5 pairs of blades.   Blade Shaft Set: 
100mm dia.(approx 4" dia.)

Slitting Capacity:
3 blades: 16 ga.(.060") x 50" steel(400N/mm2)
5 blades: 20 ga.(.060") x 50" steel(400N/mm2)
3 blades: 19 ga.(.042") x 50" steel(600N/mm2)
5 blades: 24 ga.(.024") x 50" steel(600N/mm2)

„Multicut“ MC 1250 There are many advantages to cutting with this 
slitting and cut-to-length line: Perfect feeding of the sheet without 
edge damage is ensured by a precise and easily adjusted entrance guide
 with rollers. Higher sheet advancing speed up to max. 25 m/min. Five 
pairs of slitting blades to slit regular and stainless steel provide 
for accurate blanks. The versatile two-sided slitting blades can be 
reground for reuse inexpensively. Powered upper blade-shaft adjustment
 to optimize scrap removal or to take advantage of a strictly 
cut-to-length line. Precise and burrless cuts are guaranteed by the 
proven electric shear with special blades for regular and stainless 
steel. Cutting-to-length is much faster because of the automatic 
return of the shear carriage when the end of the sheet is reached. 
Also the return speed is much faster. Easiest programming with touch 
panel. Different programs can be stored, each prescribing a particular
 quantity and length. Extras like optimal waste management (important 
for slitting) are standard. The sheet length tolerance is ± 0,2 mm.
